While standard P. ridleyi is famous for its brain-like, deeply veined shield fronds, the 'Monkey King' turns up the drama with erect, deeply ruffled fertile fronds that feature stunningly wavy, lace-like margins.

Care Profile

• Light: Bright, indirect light is essential. Provide strong, filtered light (or keep under high-quality grow lights) to maintain the tight, compact cabbage form of the shield fronds. Avoid direct scorching sun. 
• Watering: Water when the surface of the sphagnum moss begins to feel dry and light, but before it goes completely bone dry. Soak briefly and let drain completely. Never let water pool or sit inside the crown or shield fronds. 
• Airflow (The Secret Ingredient): Continuous, gentle air movement is critical. In the wild, these grow high up in the forest canopy. Good ventilation prevents moisture from stagnating between the tightly overlapping shield plates, keeping root rot at bay. 
• Temperature & Humidity: Keep it warm and cozy (68°F to 86°F / 20°C to 30°C) and aim for relative humidity levels of 60% or higher.
